Aims & Scope
Horizons et Conjonctures (Āfāq wa-Siyāqāt) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Faculty of Religious Sciences at Saint Joseph University of Beirut. It is devoted to the study of the religious sciences in their various dimensions. The journal is structured around five principal axes: biblical and systematic theology; the heritage of the Christian East; Christian Arabic literature and manuscripts; Islamic–Christian studies; and the religious phenomenon. Through these axes, it seeks to establish a scholarly platform for the publication of original research distinguished by methodological rigor and analytical depth.
By bringing together the intellectual heritage of tradition and contemporary methodologies, the journal offers a forum for serious scholarly dialogue. It endeavors to read the interwoven contents of the sacred texts and to analyze their relationship to the challenges of the present age from a critical perspective.
The journal offers doctoral students the opportunity to publish their articles in accordance with high academic standards, and it provides professors and researchers with a space to publish in-depth scholarly studies that enrich knowledge and open new horizons.
Committed to the quality of the research it publishes, the journal adopts a double-blind peer-review system. It also encourages interdisciplinary approaches in which diverse fields of knowledge intersect, in order to advance the understanding of religion in its historical, cultural, social, and theological contexts, within the framework of the Middle East.
Horizons et Conjonctures is published annually and accepts submissions in Arabic, French, and English, thereby fostering intellectual and cultural diversity. Alongside its regular research volumes, the journal publishes special issues devoted to focused research themes addressing specific scholarly questions, as well as academic guidance documents and large-scale collaborative research projects.
The journal is published in both print and digital editions, facilitating access to its content and broadening its reach within academic circles worldwide.
آفاق وسياقات
آفاق وسياقات هي مجلّة أكاديميّة محكّمة تصدر عن كلّيّة العلوم الدينيّة في جامعة القدّيس يوسف في بيروت، وتُعنى بدراسة العلوم الدينيّة بأبعادها المختلفة. تستند المجلّة إلى محاور خمسة رئيسة: اللاهوت البيبليّ والنظاميّ، تراث الشرق المسيحيّ، الأدب العربيّ المسيحيّ المخطوط، الدراسات الإسلاميّة المسيحيّة، الظاهرة الدينيّة، من أجل خلق منبرٍ علميّ لنشر أبحاثٍ أصيلة تمتاز بالدقّة المنهجيّة والعمق التحليليّ.
من طريق مقاربة تجمع بين التراث والمنهجيّات الحديثة، توفّر المجلّة منصّةً للحوار العلميّ الرصين، وتسعى إلى قراءة مضامين المقدّس المتشابكة، وتحليل علاقاته بتحدّيات العصر، من منظور نقديّ.
تتيح المجلّة لطلبة الدكتوراه فرصة نشر مقالاتهم وفق معايير أكاديميّة عالية. كما تقدّم للأساتذة والباحثين مساحةً لنشر دراساتٍ علميّة معمّقة تُثري المعرفة وتفتح آفاقًا جديدة.
حرصًا على جودة الأبحاث، تعتمد المجلّة نظام التقييم المغفل المزدوج، كما تشجّع المقاربات المتعدّدة التي تتداخل فيها الحقول المعرفيّة المختلفة لفهم الدين في سياقاته التاريخيّة والثقافيّة والاجتماعيّة واللاهوتيّة، ضمن إطار الشرق الأوسط.
تصدر مجلّة آفاق وسياقات سنويًا، وتقبل الأبحاث باللغات العربيّة والفرنسيّة والإنكليزيّة، متيحةً المجال للتنوّع الفكريّ والثقافيّ. وإلى جانب مجلّداتها البحثيّة الدوريّة، تنشر المجلّة أعدادًا خاصّة ذات محاور بحثيّة مكرّسة لمعالجة إشكاليّات علميّة محدّدة، أو لنشر وثائق توجيهيّة أكاديميّة، أو أعمال بحثيّة جماعيّة واسعة النطاق.
تصدر المجلّة بنسختيها الورقيّة والرقميّة، ممّا يسهّل الوصول إلى محتواها ويوسّع نطاق انتشارها في الأوساط الأكاديميّة العالميّة.
