Al-Kīmiyā

About This Journal

Al-Kīmiyā is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Faculty of Languages and Translation (FdLT) of Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ).

Founded in 2001-2002 under this name based on the annals of the Institute of Languages and Translation (ILT), Al-Kīmiyā mainly publishes research in translation, interpretation, and languages: translation studies, terminology, history of translation, intercultural communication, translation teaching, language teaching, and language sciences..

It is a biannual multilingual journal receiving original articles in French, Arabic, English, Spanish, Italian, and German. The choice of themes is left to the researchers, who will thus reflect in their articles the diversity of approaches and perspectives open to breaking down barriers between disciplines.

Each issue also includes a section of reviews of recent books addressing the journal's themes of interest. Issues may occasionally focus on a thematic topic.

All contributions undergo a double-blind peer review process. Once the article is accepted, the author(s) sign a declaration of originality and compliance with ethical standards before publication.

Al-Kīmiyā aims to be a space for reflection, giving a voice to researchers, teachers, doctoral students, and professionals in the translation and language fields.
