The Work of Saint James: Sixty Years
Abstract
Fr David Neuhaus, Latin Patriarchal Vicar for the Catholic Hebrew Speaking Community in Israel, published a pastoral letter on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Work of Saint James. He describes briefly the beginnings of this community (kehilla in Hebrew), its later developments as well as its goals and the new challenges it faces today.
L'Œuvre Saint-Jacques : Soixante années
Résumé
Le père David Neuhaus, vicaire patriarcal latin, responsable du vicariat Saint-Jacques pour les Chrétiens de langue hébraïque d'Israël, a publié une lettre pastorale à l'occasion du soixantième anniversaire de la fondation de l'Œuvre Saint-Jacques. Cette lettre a été publiée en la fête d'Édith Stein, le 9 août 2015.
Cette année nous célébrons le soixantième anniversaire de la fondation de l'Œuvre Saint-Jacques. Le 14 décembre 1954, le vicaire patriarcal latin pour Israël, Mgr Antonio Vergani, ainsi que le père Joseph Stiassny (Père de Sion), le père Jean-Roger Héné (Assomptionniste), Monsieur Martin Weinhoben et Madame Yosha Bergman, annoncèrent la création de l'Œuvre. Un mois plus tard, le père Bruno Hussar (Dominicain) et d'autres se joignent à l'Œuvre.
