Abstract

The Middle East increasingly resembles a powder keg on the verge of explosion, where violence spreads terror and claims ever more victims. Its absurdity fuels our eagerness to understand the real causes and gives rise to a series of questions: Why? How is it possible for human beings to become so violent? Why do young “suicide bombers” blow themselves up in the midst of crowds? What message are they trying to convey? How can such terrorist and inhuman acts be justified? Is there a connection with the religious phenomenon?

Le Moyen-Orient ressemble, de plus en plus, à une poudrière en pleine explosion où la violence sème la terreur et atteint de nouvelles victimes. Son absurdité attise notre curiosité avide de connaître les causes réelles et provoque une série d’interrogations : Pourquoi ? Comment est-il possible que l’homme devienne si violent ? Pourquoi des jeunes « kamikazes » se font-ils exploser au milieu des foules ? Quel message tentent-ils de transmettre ? Comment justifier ces actes terroristes et inhumains ? Y a-t-il un rapport avec le phénomène religieux ?
